M5 Printer Z-Axis Homing Failure Troubleshooting
M5 Unilateral Z-Axis Abnormal Troubleshooting Steps
1. Initial Check:
- Turn off the machine and move the Z-axis to the bottom by hand.
- Restart the machine to check if the movement and jamming issues persist.
- If the problem remains, proceed with the following steps:
Check Z-Axis Motor Wire:
- Remove the bottom cover plate.
- Check if the Z-axis motor wire is loose or inserted upside down.
- If the wire is normal, re-insert it and run the Z-axis again to see if the issue is resolved
Check Z-Axis Components:
- Check if the Z-axis threaded rod and coupling are properly secured in the slot.
- Manually move the Z-axis up and down to check for looseness. If loose, follow these steps:
Remove Z-Axis Motor Wire:
- Pull out the Z-axis motor wire.
- Remove the Type-C wire fixing bolts and pull out the Type-C wire.
- Remove the 8 Z-axis fixing bolts and the gantry assembly from the base.
Inspect and Fix Coupling:
- Remove the loose Z-axis motor fixing screws.
- Pull out the Z-axis motor and threaded rod.
- Check if the screws at the coupling are loose. If loose, fix the motor and thread the rod again.
- Reinstall the machine by reversing the disassembly steps.
- Reassemble:
- After fixing the issues, reinstall the machine in the reverse order of disassembly.
5. Check for Motor Damage:
- If the above steps do not resolve the issue, the motor might be damaged.
