How to Replace the Model Cooling Fan of M5
Fault Description:
- Model printing overheats (using simple mode Slice).
- The fan noise is loud (greater than 55dB at a distance of 1 meter from the equipment).
- The fan is not working.
Method of Replacement:
- Prepare the Printer:
- Turn on the M5 switch.
- Click Control > Move on the screen to raise the Z-axis of the nozzle assembly by 200mm and move it to the middle of the X-axis for easy replacement.
- Make sure the consumables are removed and turn off the power. Wait for the hotend to cool down for easy replacement.
Loosen Nozzle Assembly Bolts:
- Use the H2.0 hex wrench to loosen the 4 bolts on the back of the nozzle assembly.
Move Top and Nozzle Cover:
- Move the top cover and nozzle cover of the nozzle assembly up along the Type-C line and secure them.
Remove Front Bottom Cover:
- Use an H2.0 wrench to loosen the front bottom cover bolts and remove the bottom cover.
Remove Cooling Fan:
- Use the H2.0 wrench to loosen the two screws of the front model cooling fan.
- Pull out the left and right model cooling fan wires respectively, and remove the cooling fan part.
Remove Fan Air Guides:
- Use an H1.5 wrench to unscrew the four screws of the left and right fan air guides, and remove the two green air guides.
- Remove and Replace Fans:
- Use an H1.5 wrench to unscrew the two bolts of the left and right fans, and remove the two fans.
- Remove the new cooling fans for replacement and install the two fans using an H1.5 wrench.
- Reinstall Fan Air Guides:
- Install the left and right fan air guides separately using an H1.5 wrench.
- Reconnect Fan Power Cord:
- Plug in the fan power cord and secure it with an H2.0 wrench.
- Secure Front Bottom Cover:
- Secure the front bottom cover with an H2.0 wrench.
- Reattach Nozzle Cover:
- Move the nozzle cover and top cover of the nozzle assembly down along the Type-C line and secure them.
- Tighten Nozzle Assembly Bolts:
- Use the H2.0 wrench to tighten the back 4 screws of the nozzle assembly to complete the replacement of the model cooling fan.
