Please refer to the following step-by-step instructions on how to replace the aluminum baseboard (with cable) for your M5 printer:
1. Carefully lay the M5 printer on its side, use an H2.0 hex wrench to remove the seven bottom cover screws (marked in green), then use an H2.5 hex wrench to loosen the four foot pad screws (marked in red).
2. Remove the small cover of the bottom cover, use an H2.0 hex wrench to loosen the screws that secure the Type-C cable, then unplug the Type-C cable and the Z-axis motor cable.
3. Remove the bottom cover plate, use an H2.0 hex wrench to remove the hotbed ground wire, then use a small flat-head screwdriver to remove the 24V power cable and hotbed cable from the Marlin board and unplug the thermistor wire (please note the order of the wires).
4. Place the M5 printer in the upright position, remove the PEI board, use an H2.5 hex wrench to remove the four hotbed screws, and then use an H2.0 hex wrench to remove the two hotbed cable screws.
5. Install the new hotbed onto the Y-axis slider, use an H2.5 hex wrench to install the four hotbed screws, pass the new hotbed cable through the hotbed cable hole, and then use an H2.0 hex wrench to install the two hotbed cable screws.
6. Carefully lay the M5 printer on its side, pass the yellow ground wire through the bottom of the main board to the ground wire connector, use an H2.0 hex wrench to install the hotbed ground wire, and then plug in the thermistor wire (please note the order of the wires).
7. Flatten the round terminal of the new hotbed cable with pliers, then use a small flat-head screwdriver to lock the 24V power cable and hotbed cable on the Marlin board.
8. Use an H2.0 hex wrench to tighten the bottom cover screws, use an H2.5 hex wrench to tighten the foot pad screws, then plug in the Z-axis motor cable and Type-C cable.
Note: The Z-axis motor cable and Type-C cable correspond to "R/L".
9. Use an H2.0 hex wrench to tighten the Type-C cable screws.
10. Install the small cover of the bottom cover.
