How to Replace the AC Power Socket of M5
Symptoms of Needing Replacement:
- AC power socket burnt out.
Replacement Method:
- Remove the Bottom Cover:
- Lay the M5 machine on its back.
- Use an H2.0 hex wrench to remove the 7 bottom cover bolts (green marks).
- Use an H2.5 hex wrench to loosen the 4 foot pad bolts (red marks).
Disconnect Wires:
- Open the small cover plate of the bottom cover.
- Use an H2.0 hex wrench to release the TYPE-C wire fixing bolt.
- Unplug the TYPE-C wire and the Z-axis motor wire.
Remove the AC Power Socket:
- Open the bottom cover plate.
- Unplug the wires from the AC power socket (red marks in the figure below). Pay attention to the wire order.
- Use an H2.0 hex wrench to remove the fixing bolt of the AC power socket.
Install the New AC Power Socket:
- Insert the wires into the new AC power socket.
- Use an H2.0 hex wrench to fix the AC power socket with the fixing bolt.
Reattach the Bottom Cover:
- Use an H2.0 hex wrench to fix the bottom cover bolts.
- Use an H2.5 hex wrench to fix the foot pad bolts.
- Plug in the Z-axis motor wire and TYPE-C wire (ensure the Z-axis motor wire and TYPE-C wire correspond to "R/L").
Secure the TYPE-C Wire:
- Lock the TYPE-C wire retaining bolts with an H2.0 hex wrench.
Install the Bottom Cover Panel:
- Install the bottom cover panel back into place.
