How to Fix the Surface Texture Issue on the Model

Features and description

The surface layer of the model is visibly uneven.

Reasons, Diagnoses, and Solutions

The Difference in Speed Between the Upper and Lower Layers is Too Large, Resulting in Horizontal Stripes in the Model (Layer Stripes Caused by Overhang Speed Reduction, as Shown in Figure 2)

A. Improper Setting of Overhang Speed Reduction

  • Diagnosis: Check whether the Dynamic Overhang Speed parameter in the Slicer is turned on by going to Expert > Speed > Overhang Speed.
  • Solution: Select the automatic overhang speed reduction function through Expert > Speed > Overhang Enable > Enable dynamic overhang speeds. You can reduce the overhang printing speed at different angles through Overhang Speed.

The Single-Layer Cooling Time of the Model is Improperly Set, Leading to Transverse Lines When the Cross-Section is Small

  • Diagnosis: Check the relevant settings of Cooling thresholds in Filament Settings > Cooling, and ensure the minimum printing time of each layer is the recommended value. Adjusting the minimum printing time will automatically reduce the printing speed of smaller sections to ensure the layer material has enough time to cool.
  • Solution: For models with smaller cross-sections, increase the minimum printing time for each layer appropriately, generally not exceeding 15 seconds.

Improper Model Layer Thickness Setting, Leading to Horizontal Lines in the Overall Model (Figure 1)

  • Diagnosis: Check whether the inner layer height parameter of the Slicer matches the diameter of the nozzle through Expert > Quality > Layer Height. It is recommended that the layer height does not exceed 80% of the diameter of the nozzle. For a 0.4mm nozzle, the layer thickness should not exceed 0.32mm.
  • Solution: Modify the Layer Height parameter to meet the requirements.

Replace the nozzle with a larger diameter. Heat the nozzle to 180°C, and use an M6 socket and hexagonal wrench to replace the nozzle. Refer to the following resources for detailed instructions:

Motion Components are Loose or Vibrating, Resulting in Smaller Dislocations Overall (Figure 1)

If none of the above methods can solve the problem, please contact us directly through us and provide logs (APP side through Me > About > Upload Log, device side through Setting > Upload Log), Gcode, STL model and phenomenon pictures for analysis.
