How to Fix Collapsed Print Model
Features and description
Model Sagging, bridge collapse (also refer to How to Fix the Upper Surface Overflow Issue on the M5C Printer's Print Model)
Reasons, Diagnoses, and Solutions
The Printing Temperature is Too High
- Diagnosis: Check whether the printing temperature is suitable for the printing materials through Temperature in Filament Settings.
- Solution: Reduce the temperature of the nozzle by 5-10°C.
Lack of Support for Suspended Surface Structures Causes the Lower Surface to Sag
- Diagnosis: Check whether the suspended surface structure of the model (≤ 30°) is designed with support.
- Solution: Open Expert mode under Support and enable Generate Support Material to generate support structures.
Model Cooling Fan Issues
A. Model Cooling Fan is Not Turned On
- Diagnosis: Check whether there is a fan noise during the printing process (generally PLA+ starts at the second layer to 100% enable the fan); check whether the printing fan is turned on through Cooling > Enable Print Cooling.
- Solution: Turn on the fan function.
B. The Model Cooling Fan is Damaged
- Diagnosis: Feel whether there is wind blowing out of the nozzle during the printing process.
- Solution: Replace the model cooling fan. Refer to the following resources for detailed instructions:
Article: How to Replace the Model Cooling Fan
Printing Time for Each Layer is Too Short, Resulting in Insufficient Cooling Time
- Diagnosis: Check the Filament Settings > Cooling thresholds related settings in Cooling. Ensure that the shortest printing time for each layer is set to the recommended value. Adjust the minimum printing time so that the printing speed for smaller sections is automatically reduced to ensure that the layer material has enough time to cool.
- Solution: For models with smaller cross-sections, increase the minimum printing time for each layer appropriately. It is generally recommended not to exceed 15 seconds.
If none of the above methods solve the problem, please contact us directly through us and provide logs (via the app: Me > About > Upload Log, or via the device: Setting > Upload Log), G-code, STL model, and photos of the issue for analysis.
