AI Detection and Printing Errors
When AnkerMake Studio processes the slicing of a model, it generates images of simulated perspectives at different heights. When the AI is enabled, every time the M5 prints a layer, the camera takes a picture and compares it with the images of simulated perspectives locally. After the first layer is printed, the Z-axis raises 50 mm to help the camera perform a clearer comparison. If the AI detects print abnormalities, you will see the following error message:
Solution:
- Observe the printing status of the workpiece model. If there is indeed a printing error, stop printing. If there is no printing error, ignore the warning and continue printing.
Common Issues and Solutions:
- Looks Like Spaghetti
- Cause: The print isn't sticking to the hotbed, causing the model to leave the position of the platform plate during printing.
Solution:
- Increase Brim and Use Raft:
- Go to AnkerMake Studio, increase the brim, and use a raft to increase the adhesion area by navigating to Expert Mode > Build Plate Adhesion > Build Plate Adhesion Type > Brim.
Adjust Print Temperature:
- Ensure the print temperature follows the recommended range for the filament. Increase the hotbed temperature if necessary:
- PLA+: Do not exceed 65°C
- ABS/PETG: Do not exceed 100°C
Ensure Filament Feeding:
- Position the filament spool to minimize resistance during feeding.
- If the filament is stuck for a short time during printing and then resumes extruding, it can cause defects. Position the filament spool to minimize resistance when feeding.
- Position the filament spool so that it will unwind counterclockwise.
Layer Shifting in the Y-Axis
Cause: Abnormal materials in the Y slot, tension issues, or improper settings.
Solution:
- Remove Obstructions:
- Check for any foreign objects blocking the Y slot.
- Adjust Belt Tension:
- Check and adjust the tension of the X and Y-axis belts. For detailed instructions, refer to X and Y Axis Belt Adjustment
Check Jerk Settings:
- In AnkerMake Studio Expert Mode, set Print Jerk to 15 mm/s for optimal print quality: Expert Mode > Speed > Enable Jerk Control.
Nothing is Printing When the Filament Extrudes
- Cause: Clogged nozzle or filament feeding issues.
Check Filament Spool:
- Ensure the spool is not tangled. Pause the print, unload the filament, untangle the spool, or use a new spool.
Check and Clean the Nozzle:
- Manual Feeding:
- Preheat to 220°C and manually feed the filament to check extrusion.
- Cleaning the Nozzle:
- Follow the steps in How to Clear Nozzle Blockages.
- Remove the filament, preheat to 180°C, and use a needle to clear the blockage.
- Replace Nozzle or Hotend:
Check Extruder Gear:
- Disassemble the extruder to ensure the gear moves correctly.
Check Throat Fan:
- Ensure there is air from the air outlet. Replug or replace the throat fan if necessary.
Clogged Nozzle/Filament leakage
Root Causes:
- Nozzle contamination.
- Model separation from the heating bed.
- Improper nozzle assembly.
Solution:
- Automatic Nozzle Cleaning:
- Select the Nozzle Clog Clean option from the maintenance interface.
Enter the automatic clog cleaning function and click start; the process takes about 10 minutes.
If the clog is still not solved, please follow method 2 to clean the plugging manually.
2. Manual Cleaning:
- Raise the extruder, remove the top and nozzle covers, preheat to 220°C, and clean the nozzle with tweezers or needle-nose pliers.
Additional Tips:
- Pay close attention to the heated nozzle due to its high temperature to prevent burning yourself.
- If difficult to clean, preheat the nozzle to 240°C. If you are printing high-temperature filaments such as ABS and TPU, increase the preheating temperature accordingly.
- Clean slowly and gently to avoid breaking the thermistor wire.
- Remove the air guide first, and use a heat gun to remove the connection part with the heating wire and the thermistor wire if difficult to remove.
- After cleaning, preheat the nozzle to 200°C and tighten the nozzle with a socket wrench.
If the thermistor wire breaks during cleaning, replace the hot end:

Camera Blocked
- Cause: AI cannot perform normally due to the camera being blocked by foreign objects.
Solution:
- Remove objects blocking the camera.
