How to Replace the Throat cooling Fan for the M5C

Conditions for Replacement:

  1. The throat cooling fan is not working, causing insufficient heat dissipation and nozzle blockage.
  2. The fan is making abnormal noise.

Disassembly:

  1. Turn off the printer power.
  2. Unlock the Type-C cable and Teflon tube buckle.

  1. Pull up and remove the front and top shells of the extruder.

  1. Use a 2.5mm hex wrench to unscrew the four fixing bolts of the throat cooling fan.

  1. Unplug the throat fan terminal.

Installation:

  1. Insert the new throat fan terminal.
  2. Align the installation holes of the throat fan with the bolt holes on the throat heat sink and use a 2.5mm hex wrench to tighten the four fixing bolts of the throat fan.
  3. Reattach the front and top shells of the extruder by pulling them down into place.
  4. Insert the Type-C cable and Teflon tube into the buckle.
  5. Turn on the printer, connect to the mobile app, and click "Preheat" to set the nozzle temperature above 50°C to observe if the throat fan starts working.
