How to adjust X/Y axis belts on the M5C

Why Do We Need to Adjust the Belt?

The belt can become loose or misaligned during long-term use, causing X/Y axis misalignment and affecting print quality. Proper belt tension ensures accurate and high-quality prints.

Adjustment Method:

X-axis Adjustment:

  1. Adjusting the X-axis Belt:
    1. Use a 2.5mm hexagonal wrench to adjust the tightness of the X-axis belt through the left through-hole of the left shoulder pendant. Rotate clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen.

Checking Belt Tightness:

  • Use your fingers to press the X-axis belt to feel its tightness. When the belt is suitably tight, stop adjusting. Slide the print head left and right to ensure it moves smoothly without abnormal sounds.

Y-axis Adjustment:

Method 1: Adjust Using the Feel Method

  1. Adjusting the Y-axis Belt:
    1. Use a 3mm hexagonal wrench to adjust the tightness of the Y-axis belt. Rotate clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen.

Checking Belt Tightness:

  • Use your fingers to press the Y-axis belt to feel its tightness. When the belt is suitably tight, stop adjusting. Slide the hot bed back and forth to ensure it moves smoothly without any abnormal noise.
