How to adjust X/Y axis belts on the M5C
Why Do We Need to Adjust the Belt?
The belt can become loose or misaligned during long-term use, causing X/Y axis misalignment and affecting print quality. Proper belt tension ensures accurate and high-quality prints.
Adjustment Method:
X-axis Adjustment:
- Adjusting the X-axis Belt:
- Use a 2.5mm hexagonal wrench to adjust the tightness of the X-axis belt through the left through-hole of the left shoulder pendant. Rotate clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen.
Checking Belt Tightness:
- Use your fingers to press the X-axis belt to feel its tightness. When the belt is suitably tight, stop adjusting. Slide the print head left and right to ensure it moves smoothly without abnormal sounds.
Y-axis Adjustment:
Method 1: Adjust Using the Feel Method
- Adjusting the Y-axis Belt:
- Use a 3mm hexagonal wrench to adjust the tightness of the Y-axis belt. Rotate clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to loosen.
Checking Belt Tightness:
- Use your fingers to press the Y-axis belt to feel its tightness. When the belt is suitably tight, stop adjusting. Slide the hot bed back and forth to ensure it moves smoothly without any abnormal noise.
Method 2: Adjust Using the Belt Tensioner
