How to Replace the Hotbed Wire for the M5C Printer
When to Replace the Hot Bed Wire:
- Damage or Breakage: The hotbed wire is ruptured, crushed, or broken during use, or has aged and become damaged.
- Abnormal Hot Bed Temperature: The hot bed temperature fluctuates significantly (temperature jumps > 5 ℃), shows 0 ℃, or other anomalies, possibly due to long-term aging leading to poor contact between the internal power cord or thermal wire of the hotbed wire.
Disassembly:
- Turn off the device power.
- Pull down the cover plate on the base and disconnect the two Z-axis motor terminals.
- Use a 2.5mm wrench to unscrew the 4-foot pad fixing bolts and 5 bottom shell fixing bolts.
- Use a cross screwdriver to unscrew the hot bed power cord, unplug the thermal wire terminal, and use a No. 2 wrench to unscrew the bottom line fixing bolt of the hotbed wire.
- Remove the PEI board and use a 2.5mm wrench to unscrew the hotbed fixing bolts.
- Use a No. 2 wrench to unscrew the hotbed wire fixing bolt and remove the hotbed wire protection shell.
- Pull out the wire terminal.
- Use the No. 2 wrench to unscrew the hotbed wire fixing bolt on the base and pull out the hotbed wire.
Installation:
- Insert the hotbed wire male terminal into the female terminal of the hotbed and cover the hotbed wire protective shell.
- Use a No. 2 wrench to lock the hotbed wire fixing bolt.
- Use a 2.5mm wrench to lock the hotbed board fixing bolts.
- Install the PEI board.
- Thread the fixed end of the hotbed wire main board into the base and use the No. 2 wrench to lock the hotbed fixing bolt on the base.
- Use a cross-screwdriver to tighten the hot bed power cord and connect the wire's main board terminals.
- Use a No. 2 wrench to tighten the bottom line fixing screws of the hotbed wire.
- Cover the base shell and tighten the 4-foot pad fixing bolts and 5-bottom shell fixing bolts with a 2.5mm wrench.
- Insert the two Z-axis motor terminals and cover the plate on the base.
- Turn on the power, perform automatic leveling, and start a new print job.
