Failure Phenomenon
The status indicator light is a key visual reference for the operating state of the laminating machine. When a fault occurs, it typically appears in one of the following ways:
-
No response from the status indicator: The indicator does not light up at all after the device is powered on.
-
Status indicator flashes red: The indicator flashes red and is usually accompanied by a buzzer alarm.
-
Status indicator flashes together with other indicators: The status indicator flashes at the same time as the B Film light or Heating light, indicating an alarm condition.
-
Status indicator lights up white: The device has entered sleep mode.
-
Abnormal status indicator behavior: The indicator light state does not match the actual operating status of the machine.
Possible Causes
Depending on the observed behavior, the issue may be caused by one or more of the following:
-
Status indicator does not light up
-
B film hatch not closed: The microswitch is not triggered, preventing the device from starting normally.
-
Hardware failure: The indicator light itself or the control circuitry may be damaged.
-
-
Status indicator flashes red
-
Film blockage / roll film obstruction: Sensor A (front optical sensor) is blocked, often due to residual film material during startup.
-
Sensor obstruction: Sensor B (through-beam sensor) is blocked (not applicable in hot stamping mode).
-
Film placement error: The film is not positioned correctly on the roller, preventing the roller from feeding it properly.
-
Temperature abnormality: Roller temperature exceeds the upper limit of 165 °C, or a temperature sensor detects an anomaly.
-
-
Status indicator and B Film light flash simultaneously
-
B film issue: The B film is not installed correctly, not fully seated, or has run out.
-
Sensor failure: Abnormal detection from Sensor D (Hall sensor).
-
Status indicator and Heating light flash simultaneously
-
Over-temperature protection triggered: Roller temperature exceeds the safety limit of 165 °C.
-
Temperature control system failure: Malfunction of the thermostat or damage to the heating element.

Troubleshooting Steps
Follow the steps below in order to identify and resolve the issue:
-
Check the power connection. Ensure the device is properly connected to a stable power source.
-
Check the B film hatch cover
-
Confirm the hatch is fully closed and securely latched
-
Ensure a clear “click” sound is heard when closing
-
Verify that the microswitch is being triggered correctly
-
-
Check Sensor A
-
Remove any residual film material near Sensor A
-
Clean the sensor’s light-transmitting window
-
Ensure the sensor path is clear and unobstructed
-
-
Check Sensor B (except in hot stamping mode)
-
Remove any residual film material near Sensor B
-
Ensure the opposing optical path is unobstructed
-
Confirm the sensor is functioning normally
-
-
Check the film position
-
Remove the film and restart the device
-
After preheating completes, reinstall the film correctly onto the roller
-
Confirm the roller can feed the film smoothly
-
-
Reinstall B Film. Ensure the B film is correctly seated and fully installed before restarting the machine.
