Function of the Rotary Printing Accessory
The rotary printing accessory enables printing on cylindrical and conical objects with regular diameters. It supports automatic height measurement, automatic leveling, and automatic positioning to ensure precise alignment during the printing process.
This accessory allows for both 2D and 2.5D printing on rotating objects, providing users with a convenient solution for full-color, customized image printing. The final results are vibrant, and durable, meaning they are suitable for long-term use and storage.
Working Principle of the Rotary Printing Accessory
The rotary printing accessory operates through a coordinated system of mechanical rotation and motor control, involving the following core components:
Rotation Axis and Motor
The accessory features a central rotation axis. When facing the logo side of the accessory:
-
The left wheel is the drive wheel, directly powered by a motor. This motor turns the axis, enabling continuous rotation during printing.
-
The right wheel is the follower wheel, which provides support and stability for smooth, consistent rotation.
Control System
The printer’s control system must precisely coordinate the movement of the rotation axis and the print head. This is achieved through firmware & dedicated software algorithms that generate print paths suitable for rotational printing.
By controlling the motion of the rotating object, the system enables accurate 2D and 2.5D printing on cylindrical or conical surfaces. Intelligent adjustment algorithms ensure print accuracy on complex shapes such as cones or cups with handles.
Fixture Mechanism
A pressure bar on the left side stabilizes lightweight or hollow objects, such as cups. The right side includes a manually adjustable sliding component, which helps position the follower and bottom alignment column according to the height of the object. These elements work together to keep the object securely in place, ensuring consistent high-quality printing.
Synchronous Motion
During printing, the rotation axis and printhead must move in precise coordination. As the printhead moves along the X-axis, the rotation axis turns the object at a programmed speed and angle. This synchronized motion ensures accurate ink application for clean and consistent 2D and 2.5D prints on cylindrical or tapered surfaces.
Precautions
1. Do not use a dishwasher to clean UV-printed cups. Ultraviolet-cured ink layers are not resistant to high heat, strong detergents, or high-pressure water. Exposure to such conditions may cause the printed patterns to peel, fade, or become damaged.
2. After printing, clean the non-printed areas of the cup with 75% alcohol, then rinse with hot water before use.
3. Avoid placing printed patterns in contact with the mouth.
4. If the cup opening is stepped or rounded, use the included drive wheel bushing to ensure stable rotation during printing.
5. If necessary, use the follower wheel bushings provided to extend the follower wheels for additional support.
6. If the internal thread at the cup mouth is deeper than 15 mm, use the supplied strut spacer to extend the strut and provide proper support.

Slide the latch to the left to remove the pre-installed flatbed. Place the rotary printing accessory onto the printer tray, then slide the latch to the right to lock it securely in place.
Metal Skinny Tumbler - Stainless Steel Skinny Tumbler
1. If the internal thread depth exceeds 15 mm, use the provided strut spacer to extend the strut and ensure proper positioning.
2. With the tumbler opening facing left, push it gently against the front stop pin and place the opening on the drive wheels.
3. Press and hold the unlock button, then slide the adjustable end until the rear stop pin is securely positioned against the tumbler base.
4. Rest the bottom of the tumbler on the follower wheels and push it gently against the rear stopper.
5. Slide the adjustable strut to the right until it locks in place.
Metal Drink Cup - Stainless Steel Tumbler
1. With the opening facing left, press the tumbler against the front stop pin and place it on the drive wheels.
2. Press and hold the unlock button and move the rear support until the stop pin is positioned against the tumbler base.
3. Set the base of the tumbler on the follower wheels and push it back against the rear stopper.
4. Slide the adjustable strut to the right until it locks in place.
Metal Mug - Travel Mug
1. Place the base of the mug on the follower wheels. Use the included follower wheel bushings to extend the wheels if necessary.
2. With the mug opening facing left, press it against the front stop pin and rest the opening on the drive wheels.
3. Press and hold the unlock button, then slide the adjustable support until the rear stop pin touches the mug base.
4. Push the mug firmly against the rear stopper. The handle should be aligned near the driving wheel.
5. Slide the strut to the right until it locks to prevent any movement during printing.
