Fault Description
The B-Film indicator shows the current status of the bottom film (B-Film) in the laminating machine. When an issue occurs, it may appear in one of the following ways:
-
B-Film indicator does not light up at all: After installing the B-Film, the indicator remains off.
-
B-Film indicator flashes red: The indicator flashes red to signal an error and may be accompanied by an audible alarm.
-
B-Film indicator and Status light flash simultaneously: Both indicators flash at the same time and are accompanied by a buzzer alarm.
-
B-Film indicator shows green but the state is incorrect: The indicator appears normal, but the actual B-Film status does not match.
-
B-Film indicator flashes on and off intermittently: The indicator state is unstable and changes frequently.
Possible Causes
B-Film Indicator Does Not Light Up
-
B-Film not installed: The B-Film roll is not placed correctly in the film compartment.
-
Sensor C not triggered: The swing arm and microswitch sensor do not detect the presence of the film.
-
Film not threaded correctly: The film has not been routed through the roller system properly.
-
Film tension too low: Insufficient tension prevents the sensor from being triggered.
B-Film Indicator Flashes Red
-
B-Film depleted: Sensor D detects that the B-Film has run out.
-
Incorrect B-Film installation: The film roll is not installed or secured correctly.
-
Sensor failure: Abnormal detection by Sensor D (Hall sensor).
B-Film Indicator and Status Light Flash Together
-
Initialization incomplete: The B-Film installation process was not completed successfully.
-
Multiple sensor abnormality: Sensors C and D are both reporting errors.
-
Incorrect film specification: An incompatible B-Film roll has been installed.
-
Mechanical fault: Damage to the film reel, holder, or related components.
Troubleshooting Steps
Step 1 – Check B-Film Installation
-
Open the B-Film hatch cover.
-
Confirm that the B-Film roll is correctly placed inside the film compartment.
-
Ensure the film roll is securely fixed and not loose.
-
Verify that the B-Film specifications are compatible with the machine.
Step 2 – Check Film Threading and Condition
-
Confirm that the film is routed correctly through the roller system.
-
Verify that the film path is correct and unobstructed.
-
Ensure the film has adequate tension.
-
Check whether the film is damaged, torn, or broken.
Step 3 – Inspect and Clean Sensors
Sensor C (Swing Arm + Microswitch)
-
Locate Sensor C.
-
Remove dust, debris, or residue from the sensor area.
-
Check that the swing arm moves freely.
-
Confirm that the microswitch triggers normally when film is present.
Sensor D (Hall Sensor)
-
Locate Sensor D.
-
Clean the area around the sensor.
-
Check that the sensor cable is securely connected and undamaged.
-
Verify that the sensor responds correctly when film is present.
Step 4 – Reinstall B-Film
-
Remove the B-Film completely.
-
Reinstall the film following the standard B-Film installation procedure.
-
Observe the indicator lights during initialization to confirm normal operation.
